HI
I have a xerox 700, giving error code 10-342. Its related to fuser, please advice how to get rid of error code.

Hi your error code is reporting:-
Decurler Cam Upper operation failure is detectedit’s possible that you had a jam or fault and the main body of the machine was turned off but not any accessories that are attached to the machine. Unplug / turn off all parts of the machine including high capacity feeder, booklet maker etc….
Failing that open the paper path module of the machine and is there a spillage of toner around where the fuser sits and the decurler.
It’s nothing to do with the fuser that is error code 10-324 where you re-set an NVM to get the machine working again.

Decurler is not driven. One of the coupler is sticking on his shaft. Lubricate the shafts

I’ve had this before on a 700.
In my machines case the Y dev housing was spilling toner on to the OB side of the decurler unit and getting caught in the gears and cogs causing it bind and draw too much power.
I hoovered out the cog & gears and it worked fine afterwards.
Just needed new Dev housing in Y.

I have this same error code. I have followed the advice in this thread. I have vacuumed the toner, cleaned the gears, and oiled the shafts, and the decurler drive couplers in the inside back, I had to take apart the right side of the copier to reach them. I still have 10-342 fault code. What else could I try to get my 700 working again?

Do i have to replace the decurler drive? is it a motor of some sort?

Hi Phil, is this forum policy? In most other technical forums moderators are pretty insistent on keeping solutions in one thread as much as possible, since it gives a more concentrated overview in search results. I really don’t mind but just want to double-check.

If your question relates directly to the topic of the original thread, I think it is much smarter to continue the old one. The fact that a thread is old is no reason to duplicate it, if it is directly thematically related. There is quite possibly good information already there in the old thread that will help out.
Never hijack a thread, of course, but if it is the same error/same topic, I say it makes way more sense to continue where those before left off.

Появление на экране Ксерокс ошибки 043 342 после ремонта, связанного с заменой тонера, указывает на недостаточную очистку картриджей. Потребуется обесточить принтер, отсоединить от него все провода и снять верхнюю крышку. Картриджи достать, протереть их поверхность. Убедиться, что внутри принтера не осталось пыли или частиц высыпавшегося тонера. Если таковые обнаружены, убрать их, собрать устройство, подключить к сети и запустить тестовую печать. Если проблема не решилась, нужно обратиться в сервис, где был произведен ремонт, по гарантии.
Как найти причину поломки?
В остальных случаях нужно проверять работу главного двигателя. Самостоятельно это делать не рекомендуется, т.к. большинство пользователей сразу пытаются разобрать мотор, чем окончательно выводят технику из строя.
В Xerox установлен бесколлекторный двигатель постоянного тока, который крайне редко ломается. Поэтому потребуется разобрать принтер или копировальный агрегат и убедиться, что вращению мотора ничего не мешает (драм, фьюзер, ролики, картридж тонера и пр.). Если препятствий не обнаружено, с наибольшей вероятностью проблема в неисправности большой силовой микросхемы, из-за чего срабатывает защита от перегрузки по току и устройство не переходит в состояние готовности.
Когда прибор Xerox стал выдавать ошибку 043 342, отключите устройство из сети и вызовите мастера. HI

Hi your error code is reporting:-
Decurler Cam Upper operation failure is detectedit’s possible that you had a jam or fault and the main body of the machine was turned off but not any accessories that are attached to the machine. Unplug / turn off all parts of the machine including high capacity feeder, booklet maker etc….
Failing that open the paper path module of the machine and is there a spillage of toner around where the fuser sits and the decurler.
It’s nothing to do with the fuser that is error code 10-324 where you re-set an NVM to get the machine working again.

Decurler is not driven. One of the coupler is sticking on his shaft. Lubricate the shafts

I’ve had this before on a 700.
In my machines case the Y dev housing was spilling toner on to the OB side of the decurler unit and getting caught in the gears and cogs causing it bind and draw too much power.
I hoovered out the cog & gears and it worked fine afterwards.
Just needed new Dev housing in Y.

I have this same error code. I have followed the advice in this thread. I have vacuumed the toner, cleaned the gears, and oiled the shafts, and the decurler drive couplers in the inside back, I had to take apart the right side of the copier to reach them. I still have 10-342 fault code. What else could I try to get my 700 working again?

Do i have to replace the decurler drive? is it a motor of some sort?

If your question relates directly to the topic of the original thread, I think it is much smarter to continue the old one. The fact that a thread is old is no reason to duplicate it, if it is directly thematically related. There is quite possibly good information already there in the old thread that will help out.
Never hijack a thread, of course, but if it is the same error/same topic, I say it makes way more sense to continue where those before left off.
