When I try loading CIV III Play the World or CONQUESTS, I immediately get an error message: «FONT ERROR Error loading font (Error Code: 13)! The Game will now exit.»
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
It had been working fine for ages, then this error suddenly started coming up. I don’t recall downloading anything or changing anything on my computer that could have had this effect, but I guess there was something.
What I already tried: I uninstalled CIV III, Play the World, and Conquests using add/remove programs and re-installed them all. I tried downloading and installing various patches. I contacted the Atari support, they recomended shutting down all other programs when I try to run it, I tried that, no effect.

Hi — welcome to CFC.
Try the following:
Manually copy font
You may need to copy a font file into the Font directory1. Double-click on My Computer. If you don’t see My Computer, click Start then My Computer.
2. Click on C:
3. Click on Program Files
4. Click on Civilization 3
5. Click on PTW
6. Locate the file named LSans.ttf
7. Right-click on it
8. Choose Copy
9. Close this window
10. Double-click My Computer
11. Click on C:
12. Click on Windows
13. Click on Fonts
14. Click on Edit
15. Click on Paste
Failing that, you may have too many fonts installed. Try uninstalling a few that you never use (you find them under ‘fonts’ in the control panel).

При запуске игрушки появляется окошко с ошибкой (уже отрисованое игрушкой, а не системное):
ошибка загрузки шрифта (код ошибки 13)!!
и кнопка «выход из игры».
В папке игры нашёл файлик MSANS.TTF, пробовал лжить в директорию ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/Fonts, в ~/.fonts — не помогло(
Это излечимо? А то на пары только 2 февраля…:))

Запускается ли у кого нибудь сие чудо под вайн?? У меня вываливается ошибка: Не могу загрузить шрифт(Ошибка13)….есть какие нить рецепты?

игра есть в базе данных? Если есть то там возможные ошибки и их решения , часто помогает , ну а на счет шрифтов можно с какого нить виндоуса стянуть и себе поставить , но у меня 99% игр со стандартными идет =)

попробуйте поставить corefonts.
Не помню точно, как он в ubuntu зовется.
На форуме больше не появляюсь.

ну типа, да…
Бери 4, она imho лучше, и без проблем запускается под вайном (проверено лично).
xml — dll-ки тока надо заменить на нативные

I’ve been trying to run Civilization III: Complete through Steam but every time it runs it crashes saying Error loading font (Error Code: 13)!! Any suggestions?

Okay, I’ve fixed this problem. In «[Bottle]/drive_c/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/sid meier’s civilization iii complete/Conquests» (apparently; I haven’t checked this bit independantly) there is, after you download Civ III but BEFORE YOU RUN IT for the first time, there is a file called LSANS.fot. Get Info on it and Lock it. That’s all. That will fix the Error Code: 13 problem. However, sigh that only allows the next error, an Error Code: 28, to come up…
Success! I found the solution on Civfanatics (ignore my previous fix):
In the Terminal, navigate to the Conquests directory:»[Your Steam Bottle]/drive_c/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/sid meier’s civilization iii complete/Conquests/»
sudo cp LSANS.TTF LSANS.fot
chflags simmutable LSANS.fot
Note that copying, renaming and locking LSANS.TTF in the Finder will NOT work. I suspect you could copy and rename the file in the Finder and then lock it using the Terminal, but I haven’t tried that. I’ve also seen solutions where you simply assign the file to Root ownership using chown, but that didn’t work for me. I may have done it wrong though. Nonetheless, this method worked for me. The game is running, at least. Now if I could only get multiplayer working…
Don’t forget that this has to be the Conquests directory, not the main «sid meier’s civilization iii complete» directory, even though there’s a LSANS.TTF font there too.

Уважаемые симоводы, после обновления игры и/или установки дополнения «The Sims 3 Мир приключений» могли возникнуть следующие проблемы:

невозможность сохранить игру (сообщение об ошибке №16)

«исчезновение» городов / семей / персонажей / навыков / отношений и др.
Всё это лечится восстановивлением предыдущего сохранения.
Вам необходимо зайди в папку с сохранениями игры: «Мои ДокументыElectronic ArtsThe Sims 3SavesMySave.sims3» и найти найти файл с именем «MySave.sims3.legacy.» Этот файл – ваше неиспорченное сохранение. Переместите файлы и папки «MySave.sims3», «MySave.sims3.bad» и «Mysave.sims3.backup» из папки с сохранениями и переименуйте файл «MySave.sims3.legacy», убрав расширение «.legacy». Перезапустите The Sims 3 или The Sims 3 Мир приключений. Ваша сохраненная игра теперь восстановлена.
Будьте внимательны. Настоятельно советуем делать резервную копию данных игры (сэйвов) перед любыми манипуляциями.
