Hello,
I keep getting this error, and others, and I don’t have a clue as to what is causing it and how to fix it. Sometimes the computer just crashes.
I have a Huawei laptop Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8550U CPU @ 1.80GHz 1.99 GHz 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Bios 1.28 with Windows 10 version 20H2 OS build 19042.906
I would appreciate any help anyone can provide. Thanks in advance

Windows 10 Event ID 17, DPTF Application Error

I need some information on the subject error. Can anyone tell me what it is and what it might do to the system? MS Support site is LESS than helpful…
Machine Details: Dell Precision 7510 running Windows 10 (all system updates performed). Connected to Dell Docking station with wired Gigabit ethernet connected to ISP Router directly, using IPv4 and static IP setup. Extra Dell 24″ HD monitor connected to docking station to provide 2 screens for viewing.
Symptoms: Main notebook screen goes black. If I react fast enough I am able to quickly go to the windows icon on the attached monitor and shut the system down. If not, the 2nd monitor will start to lose taskbar functionality and I am not able to shut down (ctrl-alt-del does not function), screen eventually goes black as well then the mouse stops and then disappears… Once I lose ctrl-alt-del and the taskbar, I have to do a hard shutdown of the system and reboot. This is the most likely culprit I can tell from the event logs… Event log details are as follows:

(3) On you computer runs a jenkins (<- see link what jenkins is ) agent or jenkins server. There is a job called ‘dptf‘ which causes this error message in combination with a (business or private) windows domain.
Are you the admin or standard user ?
Solution:
A) Ignore error message, if the job is not important
B) You are a user, ask your administrator
C) You are the administrator, check what job ‘dptf‘ should do on your machine

Шаг 1. Обновите драйвер набора микросхем
1) Рекомендуется сначала обновить драйвер набора микросхем для вашего ПК. Прежде чем перейти к загрузке драйвера набора микросхем, вам может потребоваться сделать резервную копию вашей компьютерной системы на случай возникновения нежелательной ошибки, даже если набор микросхем Intel редко вызывает проблемы.
2) Чтобы загрузить драйверы набора микросхем Intel , просто перейдите непосредственно к Intel:

Выберите в левой части панели правильную версию для вашей операционной системы. Затем просто следуйте инструкциям на экране, чтобы продолжить.

Шаг 2. Обновите драйвер Intel DPTF через диспетчер устройств или Центр обновления Windows
1) На клавиатуре нажмите клавишу Windows и R одновременно, затем введите devmgmt.msc и нажмите Enter .
2) Щелкните, чтобы развернуть категорию Intel Dynamic and Perform Thermal Framework категория.
3) Щелкните правой кнопкой мыши общий участник Intel Dynamic и Perform Thermal Framework вы можете увидеть здесь и выбрать Обновить драйвер .

Если два вышеуказанных варианта по-прежнему не могут помочь вам с правильной установкой драйвера, перейдите к шагу 3, чтобы эта проблема была решена автоматически.
Шаг 3. Обновите драйвер Intel DPTF автоматически (рекомендуется)
Если у вас нет времени, терпения или компьютера навыки обновления драйверов вручную, вы можете сделать это автоматически с помощью Driver Easy .
