Hey, I’ve been using Gog 2.0 for quite a while for now and I haven’t experienced any big difficulties with plugins until recently. A few days ago my steam plugin stopped working. I’m still logged in but it shows steam as offline. I tried synchronizing the library and logging off an in again but it didn’t help. Does anyone else have this problem too? Is there any solution?

A lot of people have this problem (me included) and I hope gog make a official plugin soon

I have the same problem. I think there is an issue with 2FA, so disabling it may work. I prefer to wait until a better solution is found.

Maybe I’m a little late, but try this: close GOG Galaxy 2.0, delete steam folder from %localappdata%GOG.comGalaxypluginsinstalled and %programdata%GOG.comGalaxystorageplugins
and then try to log in again to Steam

Same for me… So I stopped usin GOG for Playnite, and I’m quite happy about it.

I’m in China.
Thanks for the new released plugin, but I’ve got a issue. The new plugin worked fine when I connect steam acount for the first time, but if I shut down gog then restart it, the plugin can’t auto reconnect the steam account. It shows ‘offline’ and nothing happened after clicking ‘retry’ or just waiting for 10 minutes. If I click ‘disconnect’ and then click ‘connect’ steam account, it worked again.
Then I checked the log file. It shows the following things. The log file is uploaded as txt. In the file, I restart gog at 2020-03-06 15:13:22. Hope It will help you.

Они у всех есть по умолчанию. Нужно отдельно скачивать плагины с гитхаба.

Для баттлнета, и всяких диковинных площадок -да. А вот те, что на скрине есть никаких усилий дополнительных не требуют.

Я хз. Скачал вчера дефолтный гелакси 2.0 и там без дополнительных усилий только хbox live интегрировался. Остальное писало тоже самое, что и на скрине. Нужно скачивать плагины и пихать их по адресу AppDataLocalGOG.comGalaxypluginsinstalled. Во времена ЗБТ было тоже самое.

Same here. I even tried to uninstall and reinstall the Steam plugin.

Same issue happening with me. I checked to see if some games I bought from Steam were added. They didn’t appear, so I tried to sync integrations, and then poof all my games disappeared. I’ve tried disconnecting then reconnecting, reinstalling GOG Galaxy, nothing works. All other integrations that I use work fine.

Same problem here. I’ve sometimes managed to actually log in, after several attempts. I added loggers throughout a local copy.

I dunno if it’s issues on the steam side, it’s very inconsistent if I get logged in or not. Once I am in, according to the logs, it successfully pulls my friend list, it also very quickly says it processed the imported game list. I added loggers to the function get_owned_games in particular. It does get run, it passes the authentication check, it does wait for the game cache to be ready, but «self._games_cache.get_owned_games()» is always empty when returned, so no games is ever actually added.

Now, I do not know how wait_ready works, if wait_ready(90) means it waits 90 seconds and then times out and proceed, that might be the issue. I did not time it but there was a significant delay between the waiting and then resuming in my logs.

That was my initial thinking too. This git repository was last updated about 17 days ago, so I don’t think it would work and suddenly not work anymore. I also did some digging on my end and I’m pretty sure you’re right. Hopefully it is fixable somehow.

Hi, thanks for all your input. I’m investigating.

Two problems:

  • (OP case) https://steamerrors.com/48 Maybe Steam had temporal problems with some CMs (auth servers), so it ask to use different one, but thep lugin does not handle that.
  • Missing most of games/other data | Galaxy Timeout on get_owned_games #118 — what @Icemasta described — probably the plugin regression issue. You can try version 0.57 to check if the problem exists.

90s Timeout on owned_games is OK. The problem is the whole method fall into >120s which causes timeout on Galaxy side and no owned games are imported at all.

Try copying the contents of the 0.21 download folder into C: > Users > Your name > AppData > Local > GOG.com > Galaxy > Plugins > Installed > Steam folder

Then reconnect Steam in GOG Galaxy settings. That’s how I got it to work for me.

Here’s how I did it exactly. First, exit GOG Galaxy. Then, on your PC, go to:

C: > Users > Your name > AppData > Local > GOG.com > Galaxy > Plugins > Installed > Steam folder (will have a bunch of number & letters in the name)

And delete everything in that folder. This probably isn’t necessary, but I just like to make sure there’s nothing in there that might mess up the v0.21 install.

Then download v0.21 here: (https://github.com/FriendsOfGalaxy/galaxy-integration-steam/releases/tag/v0.21). Assuming you are Windows, download the «window.zip» archive.

Extract the folder and copy the contents into the same folder from above that we deleted the old plugin from. Then start GOG Galaxy again, and reconnect Steam. This is how I got it to work for me.

Wouldn’t v0.21 immediately update to v0.59 unless you disable the auto-update feature though? Have you checked that the v0.21 that you’ve installed is still v0.21?

Because I tried that a few days ago, v0.57 as @FriendsOfGalaxy suggested still runs into the same issue, but I had to disable the upload process. When I tried v0.21, it would instantly update to v0.59, and I couldn’t find how to disable the update feature in v0.21 because it wasn’t in the manifest file, so it’s using another method, which I couldn’t isolate.

Yes, the auto update function does indeed update the version and then the same problem exists for me.

After installing V0.21 I disabled auto update by changing the version to «10» in the «manifest.json» file before starting Galaxy again.

edit: Make sure the version you type (10.0 in my case) is a number larger than 0.57 and then Galaxy will not update the integration.

Hmm, I’ve tried the following versions:

v0.21: Failed to start.
v0.29: Plugin has crashed
v0.39: Confirmed Partial working! This one opens up the actual steam website to do the authentication. It imports the game library. It fails to identify installed games.
v0.42: Same as v0.46.5
v0.46.5: Can login, similar to v0.39, but fails to import games at all.
v0.49: Same as v0.59
v0.57: Same as v0.59
v0.59: Can sometimes login if you fidget a bit with it (Connect -> Login -> 2FA -> … -> Do not click retry, click disconnect -> Plugin fails -> Connect -> Do not agree the terms -> Log in -> 2FA -> Agree to terms -> Logged in -> Friend list is loaded, rest fails).

So the only thing I can say is that the new authentication process does not work with whatever Steam did, but the old method works flawlessly. v0.39 is consistent, it manages to import library, it just fails to properly identify installed games, or the way it feeds the data to GoG is outdated.

Hi guys,

I’ve tried to find repro and looks like some Steam servers are affected, but not all the time.
For now I know about: sto and ord (Stokholm and Chicago steam servers). All Steam CM list:

I mean those servers works OK for login to Steam app, but not for login to a plugin as the plugin does not understand eresult 48 TryWithDifferentCM error message.

Currently I have no reproduction so I would like to ask you to test this version (windows only):
win — try different cm.zip

and if it still does not work then this one:
win — try with different region cm.zip

All steps for testing:

  • shutdown Galaxy completely
  • install a zipped build according to the readme: https://github.com/FriendsOfGalaxy/galaxy-integration-steam#for-custom-build
  • restart Galaxy
  • wait to see how plugin is connecting (if was connected previously) or connect it from the beginning.

Please share logs regardless of if it works for you or not — it will be helpful to check how the logic behaves.

The first one worked fine. It generated 2 log files, one seems to be about imported games, but I will share it with you regardless just incase it may be useful. Also, maybe it’s due to my location. I’m from Canada, Quebec. Might want to see if it works for other countries. I haven’t tried with the second zip file, but let me know if you need me to test it as well.

Here’s some quicksteps for people struggling:

  • Close Galaxy.

  • Go to %localappdata%GOG.comGalaxypluginsinstalled and delete the steam_ca27391f-2675-49b1-92c0-896d43afa4f8
    folder.

  • In %localappdata%GOG.comGalaxypluginsinstalled , create a folder named steam (name doesn’t matter).

  • Download this zip file: win — try different cm.zip

  • Unzip the content of the downloaded zip file into the folder we just created %localappdata%GOG.comGalaxypluginsinstalledsteam

EDIT by FriendsOfGalaxy: below step is optional, but not recommended — it will prevent any future plugin updates

  • Find the manifest.json file and change the version variable to 9.9. "version": "9.9",

And then you should be good to go! Launch GOG Galaxy 2.0 and try connecting it to Steam.

Looks like the problem fixed itself on Steam side. If you can, please share logs in a few hours again just restarting galaxy a few times. Each time may randomize received servers list so we can see it the problem happens again.

FYI: you’re affected by Chicago ord server, but sometimes also connect to Sterling iad one which works ok.

I’m waiting for more tests before proceeding with a release.

got mine to work yesterday i think it was 0.27 or 28 and changed the version number in json to 10.0 so it wouldn’t auto update

I had an issue of not syncing, not adding new games, tracking playtime, achievements etc, only on steam. I was able to connect to the plugin though. It has been like this for months now.

The first linked version worked for me to update my games (it added newly purchased) but it didn’t add playtime or achievements.

Current issue status: Steam fixed the problem on their side. Nevertheless the potential fix for this kind of problems will be added to plugin soon.

I think I have tired every possible troubleshooting step besides reinstalling Steam or Windows. Reinstalling Galaxy itself (including deleting all files in ProgramData and AppData) has helped. I also tried disabling Ipv6 for my Ethernet controller, but sadly that didn’t change anything either.

I am thinking maybe this is related to the recent big Steam update?

I’m closing as the fix was released and there is no more active signs of the problem.

However it is worth to note, that the problem with handling eresult 48 is NOT fixed when logging for the first time. Fixing that requires profound refactor for overcomplicated authentication flow and error handling along the way. Planned, but not a priority right now.

v0.57: Same as v0.59
v0.59: Can sometimes login if you fidget a bit with it (Connect -> Login -> 2FA -> … -> Do not click retry, click disconnect -> Plugin fails -> Connect -> Do not agree the terms -> Log in -> 2FA -> Agree to terms -> Logged in -> Friend list is loaded, rest fails).

So the only thing I can say is that the new authentication process does not work with whatever Steam did, but the old method works flawlessly. v0.39 is consistent, it manages to import library, it just fails to properly identify installed games, or the way it feeds the data to GoG is outdated.

Hi guys,

I’ve tried to find repro and looks like some Steam servers are affected, but not all the time.
For now I know about: sto and ord (Stokholm and Chicago steam servers). All Steam CM list:

I mean those servers works OK for login to Steam app, but not for login to a plugin as the plugin does not understand eresult 48 TryWithDifferentCM error message.

Currently I have no reproduction so I would like to ask you to test this version (windows only):
win — try different cm.zip

and if it still does not work then this one:
win — try with different region cm.zip

All steps for testing:

  • shutdown Galaxy completely
  • install a zipped build according to the readme: https://github.com/FriendsOfGalaxy/galaxy-integration-steam#for-custom-build
  • restart Galaxy
  • wait to see how plugin is connecting (if was connected previously) or connect it from the beginning.

Please share logs regardless of if it works for you or not — it will be helpful to check how the logic behaves.

The first one worked fine. It generated 2 log files, one seems to be about imported games, but I will share it with you regardless just incase it may be useful. Also, maybe it’s due to my location. I’m from Canada, Quebec. Might want to see if it works for other countries. I haven’t tried with the second zip file, but let me know if you need me to test it as well.

Here’s some quicksteps for people struggling:

  • Close Galaxy.

  • Go to %localappdata%GOG.comGalaxypluginsinstalled and delete the steam_ca27391f-2675-49b1-92c0-896d43afa4f8
    folder.

  • In %localappdata%GOG.comGalaxypluginsinstalled , create a folder named steam (name doesn’t matter).

  • Download this zip file: win — try different cm.zip

  • Unzip the content of the downloaded zip file into the folder we just created %localappdata%GOG.comGalaxypluginsinstalledsteam

EDIT by FriendsOfGalaxy: below step is optional, but not recommended — it will prevent any future plugin updates

  • Find the manifest.json file and change the version variable to 9.9. "version": "9.9",

And then you should be good to go! Launch GOG Galaxy 2.0 and try connecting it to Steam.

Looks like the problem fixed itself on Steam side. If you can, please share logs in a few hours again just restarting galaxy a few times. Each time may randomize received servers list so we can see it the problem happens again.

FYI: you’re affected by Chicago ord server, but sometimes also connect to Sterling iad one which works ok.

I’m waiting for more tests before proceeding with a release.

got mine to work yesterday i think it was 0.27 or 28 and changed the version number in json to 10.0 so it wouldn’t auto update

I had an issue of not syncing, not adding new games, tracking playtime, achievements etc, only on steam. I was able to connect to the plugin though. It has been like this for months now.

The first linked version worked for me to update my games (it added newly purchased) but it didn’t add playtime or achievements.

I’m closing as the fix was released and there is no more active signs of the problem.

However it is worth to note, that the problem with handling eresult 48 is NOT fixed when logging for the first time. Fixing that requires profound refactor for overcomplicated authentication flow and error handling along the way. Planned, but not a priority right now.

Also, if you have donated to me, i’ve tried to send out thank you emails, but if i missed you or couldn’t find your email, let me provide a blanket thank you statement here. Another warning, i’m going to ramble like always, apologies.

Thank you for the games. I want to make it abundantly clear i didn’t do this expecting anything in return. Me fixing this was because i am stubborn as hell and don’t know what a sunk-cost fallacy is. It didn’t work for me, and that wasn’t okay. Getting it working for the rest of you was just a bonus, because there was no reason not to share it once it worked for me. Eventually that changed. I started caring about edge cases to make it so if you messed up the plugin didn’t crash; if it was just me i’d just make sure i didn’t mess up. I saw French users struggling with the same issue we were and pondered «hey, can i add translations to make this more accessible?» (It’s not in yet, it’s on the To-Do list, i haven’t forgotten. Désolé/Es tut mir leid/Gomennasai/etc.). As i dug deeper, this approached a full-time job, without the paycheck, but i was making progress. I was also getting help, and support from you guys here. Unfortunately github can’t record this information in the commits, but it would not be there without you all.
Eventually i got to the point where it was nearly done, and i wasn’t sure what to do. I was aware you all would be grateful once it worked, and some of you would want to kick back a few bucks for my efforts. I was conflicted because i wasn’t really comfortable with that considering this is an open-source project and the goal is to be community-driven, but i had also spent a lot of time on this project. Ultimately, i decided to make my wishlists public, and if something on there was a few bucks or it was on sale and you guys wanted to buy it for me, i’d be fine with that.

It’s at this point i’d say something about the game you got me and why it was on my wishlist, but i can’t really do that for a blanket statement. My taste in games is varied, the platforms i play them on diverse. I’ve «finished the fight» (then came back for 3 more). I’ve cursed out the umpteenth Korok hidden in the dumbest of places (and then came back for the sequel), and rode robot bulls across the Frozen Wilds (and came back for the sequel it’s on my backlog). I’ve been suckered by the prospect of «delicious cake» and completed «killing monsters» with both silver and steel (favorite game. WP, CDPR). But i’ve also completed journeys and killed the jailers (another favorite, i am really good at that game) and other games that aren’t as big or prestigious. i have spent an ungodly amount of hours is zachtronics-likes, rogue-likes, metroid-vanias. I could go on and on, but the point is I love playing games. And so do you. Games are what brought us together, in this weird circumstance of a broken plugin preventing us from playing the games we love. Now i may not know why you bought whatever you did for me — maybe you really enjoyed the game and want me to experience it myself, or maybe it was the most expensive on the list and you were that thankful. Maybe it was the cheapest one on the list; there’s no shame in that (it’s what i’d do) and i’ll enjoy it just the same. But regardless, i really am grateful. I’ll try to get to all of them… just as soon as i find all 1000 Koroks Nintendo has decided to torture me with this time around. And the games on PC GamePass since i need to activate the one month trial i have there before it expires in 5 days. And the games leaving PS+ Extra in the next month or two.

PS: I’m not going anywhere, this isn’t some long-winded signing off message. This is a holy shit, GOG just gave me everything on my wishlist there, i’m having some feels message. I’ve still got work to do getting it to where i’d like, and the code needs to be significantly less gobbledygook before i hand it off to anyone else, because any sane person would have looked at the code i inherited and walked away. If i don’t fix that, it’s only going to get worse.

PPS: Now, go find @wwMRd ‘s wishlist and buy something there (or don’t, i’m not your dad). That achievement fix was legit. It actually infuriates me how elegant it is (though part of that is due to how bloody awful the code is that forced said fix). It’s python, so the genius isn’t immediately obvious because python makes everything look simultaneously simplistic and unreadable. It’s also going to unfortunately get replaced eventually because a Websocket is also a lazy async generator (word salad for two-hundred, Alex. RIP) which leads to a one-liner that makes absolutely no sense but just works (TM). Python is full of black magic like that and i hate it.

GoG 2.0 steam plugin not working

Hey, I’ve been using Gog 2.0 for quite a while for now and I haven’t experienced any big difficulties with plugins until recently. A few days ago my steam plugin stopped working. I’m still logged in but it shows steam as offline. I tried synchronizing the library and logging off an in again but it didn’t help. Does anyone else have this problem too? Is there any solution?

I used the following:

  1. GOG Galaxy 2.0.16.187
  2. GOG Galaxy 2.0.17.63

1.) Worked and imported the lib after hours of tinkering around initially, but after starting it up some months later, it didn’t update the steam lib and in the plugin sections there was suddenly ‘Steam offline retry’. Clicking on retry did nothing. Clicking on disconnect did nothing. Then suddenly the update 2.0.17.63 popped up, and so I updated.

2.) Also didn’t update the lib and also showed only ‘Steam offline retry’ and so I uninstalled it and deleted everything and then reinstalled GOG Galaxy 2.0.17.63 freshly. But it still wasn’t able to login to steam and only showed ‘Steam offline retry’ after some seconds and of course it didn’t import anything. It did also never ask for Steam Guard code entry.

I now completely uninstalled GOG Galaxy 2.0 and won’t using it again until people report that everything is running stable.
Because it already took me hours the first time to get it to import the steam lib correctly and I simply can’t stand those bugs anymore and then the whole client is also very slow and cumbersome anyway.

Would perhaps be worthwhile to take a look at ASF because there the logins and everything else work flawlessly even headless on my Raspberry Pi.

как по мне, гог на 1 месте после стима, но вот эта проблема с интеграциями просто заебала

они приходят раз в месяц примерно, слетает постоянно, почти при каждом перезапуске компа

А в чем вопрос-то?
У меня иногда ЕГС слетает, но по кнопке все перезапускает и норм.
Остальные интеграции норм.

Было такое, но заметил закономерность
Слетают только после больших обнов. Учитывая, что гог 2.0 в бете… думаю пока особо не докопаться

Проблем с инетом никаких нет ? В акк не перезаходишь в лаунчерах ?
У меня слетают тоже иногда, но уже намного реже чем год назад.

Тоже слетало по началу, раз 5 исправлял ситуацию, больше не слетал за ноябрь

ЕГС раз в пару недель слетает, но кнопкой реконнекта чинится. Ну и стим где-то раз в месяц, но тут уже приходится перелогиниваться

когда еще раздавали бесплатно Ведьмака первого поставил себе ГОГ и подтянул Стим и ЕГС, пока что, тьфу-тьфу, ни разу не слетело ничего. Вот Киберпанк предзагружу, посмотрим.
Держись, что тут еще сказать.

Ребята есть у кого проблема такая: После запуска клиента Gog Galaxy через 10-15 минут он повторно синхронизируется и разворачивается перекрывая все остальные приложения и игры. Встречался кто-то с таким? Особенно бесит когда рубишься онлайн.

я писал в сапорт гога мне ответили что они не занимаются интеграциями дали ссылку на https://github.com/…… я такой ладно окей и снес этот поганящий гог!
