Make sure your versions match. Check the system requirements for MBL.

Hello,

I have MagicBullet PhotoLooks latest version running perfect on Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and Lightroom.

But when I try to use it on Aperture (latest version too) it says:

«Magic Bullet Looks did not initialize successfully — most likely this is due to insufiicient or unsupported graphics hardware on this system.»

Is there any solution for this?

It can’t be a «insufiicient or unsupported graphics hardware» because it is working on other apps.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english.

Regards!

Jorge.

What version of Aperture?

According to the developers site:

Aperture 3.3.2 (note: not compatible with 3.4 or later)

Can’t use MagicBullet PhotoLooks on Aperture

I have been getting this error for the past few months and cannot overcome it. I have tried many complete reinstalls of premiere pro, after effects, creative cloud, magic bullet, etc. I even did a very, very clean re-install with Revo with still no luck. Exchanges with Magic Bullet support has left them stumped. Can anyone help? I would very much love to avoid reimaging my PC :(.

Specs:

CPU: Ryzen 3800x

RAM: 32gb running at 3600mhz

GPU: 3090

Software: Premiere Pro 15.2 (Latest — though I’ve tried with just about every version the creative cloud app allow) Magic Bullet Suite v14.0.3 (Latest — though I’ve tried with just about every version the Red Giant app will allow)

Video Codec: Doesnt matter — the error comes up upon launch of PP and, of course, I can’t get the plugin to apply to any footage.

Hi, I have just installed Movie Studio 16.0 Platinum but when I start the program I get an error message:

Magic Bullet QuickLooks did not initialize successfully — please re-install the software to correct the problem.

There were no errors during the install. I am running W10 64bit

Any suggestions will be gratefully received. Thanks.

Did you try reinstalling Magic Bullet Quick Looks? My MBQL originally came with MS12 and appeared without problem in VMS16Plat when I installed VMS16.

The install bundles that downloaded after I purchased Movie Studio 16 Platinum were:

Music_Maker_28.0.2.43_INT_191104_11-37_28_0_2_43, NewBlue_Transitions_5_Ultimate_180730_1_0_0_0, Update_Notifier_3.0.0.50_INT_190814_07-59_3_0_0_50, VEGAS_DVD_Architect_7.0.0.100_Trial_7_0_0_100 and VEGAS_Movie_Studio_16.0.0.175_Platinum_INT_16_0_0_175

So I wouldn’t even know which bundle contained it. I think I might have to bite the «bullet» (sorry) and remove everything and reinstall again. It’s just that I can;t see much point in doing this. My hope is/was it’s a known issue.

Thanks for responding — I appreciate your time. :o)

MBQL aren’t part of any of them. You must have already had it installed. Probably from MS12?

Ah! Eric, you are absolutely correct — I have upgraded straight from MS12 to 16. I reinstalled MBQL from the MS12 bundle and the error has gone away. Thank you very much for your help.

Since upgrading to CC 2018, Magic Bullet Looks gives me a ‘did not initialize properly’ error while Premiere is loading (see below).

Red Giant has a blog post with an upgrade for CC 2018, which I installed as a possible fix. It changed nothing. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Premiere and Looks, but that doesn’t help either.

I even tried re-downloading Premiere Pro CC 2017, and installing it along with the previous non-CC-2018 version of Looks, 13.0.2. And now it gives the same exact ‘did not initialize’ error as the 2018 version.

I can’t find anything online about this issue online. I’ve submitted a trouble ticket to Red Giant, but it’s been 5 days and they haven’t even replied. Can anybody help with this? I have a project that I wanted to finish 2 days ago, but I’m waiting on getting Looks to work again.
