hosts, введите в команде Выполнить Меню Пуск или в адресной строке Проводника такой путь, чтобы быстрее найти:
%windir%system32driversetchosts

и добавляем вот такую строчку в конец файла:
127.0.0.1 mpa.one.microsoft.com

! Если файл hosts не удается сохранить — проверьте вот что:
1. Атрибуты (свойства файла) — правой кнопкой мыши выбрать команду — Свойства откроется окно:
Снимите галочку если стоит «только чтение» и нажмите ОК.

Удалите если есть в Установке и удаление программ (Программы и компоненты) в Панели управления: Guard.Mail, антивирусы Dr.Web, Avira, AVG, Avast, Kaspersky, Anti-Malware и др.

Если файл hosts всё равно не удалось изменить, скачайте бесплатный антивирус CureIT и проверьте систему на вирусы, попробуйте снова.

На открывшейся веб-странице перейдите по ссылке пакета загрузки на том же языке, что и установленная на компьютере-клиенте версия Windows XP.

Для надежности надо выбрать вариант чистой установки.

Наверно я не один такой, выключил, конечно теперь старый антивирус не запускается но прекрасно продолжает висеть в службах и т.д. и удалить нельзя, вариант с чистой установкой хороший, но не для меня, все же нужно искать решение не столь кардинальное и радикальное) .

а что касается windows.old так я ее почистил через очистку диска.

Well, this was an annoying one, and it’s hard to find the one thread that actually addresses it amongst the ones conflating it with an off-by-one error code (subtract one from 0x8004FF91. not going to actually say it here to avoid poisoning Google).

TL;DR if you can’t install Microsoft Security Essentials – even on a brand new install of Win7 64 bit – it’s probably due to Windows Update KB3004394. Uninstall that update, and MSE will install just fine.

UPDATE: KB3004394 has been acknowledged as bad by MS. And the problems are actually a lot more far-reaching than just MSE installs; the KB botched an implementation of root certificate checking that causes all code signing checks to fail. Affected systems (Win7 SP1 and Win2008 R2 SP1 at least) will not be able to install signed device drivers, will not be able to install MSE, will get unexpected UAC prompts in weird places (due to signed code suddenly appearing unsigned and therefore untrusted)… oh, yeah, and Windows Update will fail, meaning that they’ll have to be manually fixed by either uninstalling the bad KB (at which point Windows Update will work again) or by manually downloading and installing KB3024777. Repeat manually – you can’t get it from Windows Update until Windows Update actually works, so…

Get it all in one sock, Microsoft.

Microsoft Security Essentials fails to install, error code 0x8004FF91

I’m on a Windows 7 machine, uninstalled other antivirus software, unregistered/reregistered Windows Installer a couple times, etc. etc. The install still fails with error code 0x8004FF91.

I did some research, but most of the issues with this were around Windows XP SP2, linking me to download Installer 4.5 for that OS. The fixes for Windows 7 are mostly just to restart the installer service and try again, but that hasn’t worked.

Has anyone run into this issue on Windows 7 before? Am I missing something obvious?

Method-2-Using Settings ( Temporary )
  1. Click on the windows icon on the left bottom corner of the PC.
  2. Select Settings tab and from that select Update & Security tab.
  3. In Update & Security menu from the options given on left side select Windows Security.
  4. In Windows Security , at the top click on open Windows security button.
  5. There on, this window we could see so many options from that select each one and turn them off.
  6. Click on Virus & threat protection and under Virus & threat protection settings, click on Manage Settings and disable Real-time Protection. Please note that this is temporary and once you have restarted your Computer, it will turn on automatically.
  7. Then on the left side given menus select Firewall & network protection from its menu you will see options like Domain network, Private Network, Public Network Select each one and turn them off.
  8. Now the default Antivirus  Windows Defender would be disabled temporarily.
Method-3-Using Registry Editor ( Permanent )
  1. Click on the search bar at bottom corner of the Computer and type Run or Press  Windows Key + R” to open command box.
  2. A command box will pop up and type “regedit” and click and then press YES on the pop-up, you will get Registry Editor.
  3. From Registry Editor, click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE from drop down click on SOFTWARE and then click on policies and then click on Microsoft and then Windows Defender.
  4. You will see Default file on the right hand side of the window. In that window, right click on any empty space, you will get an option says New and from that select ” DWORD (32bit) bit ” and you will get an option to rename that , Rename that as ” DisableAntispyware “. It will listed under Default file as a new one.
  5. Once done creating DisableAntispyware click on that and will get a pop-up which will show options to change its values , so then change the value to ” 1 ” by removing ” 0 ”  and then click ok and then restart Computer.
  6. Now, your Windows Defender will be turned off permanently.

How to Disable Kaspersky Antivirus

Method-1-From Taskbar
  1. On the taskbar, search for the Kaspersky symbol, it might be like green shield with a check mark
  2. If you are not able to find icon there, click on the icon tray which shows hidden icons at the right bottom corner of the PC
  3. Right Click on the Kaspersky icon , A menu will pop-up there from that select Pause Protection
  4. On Pause Protection, you will get three Pause options pause for particular time (here you could choose time), Pause until application restarts and Pause
