    Hi,

Try launching the game with more RAM, then updating your drivers.

    Also try OpenJDK.

Video drivers? I’m using the latest version. Adding more RAM didn’t do anything, will try OpenJDK later and see what happens. Thanks for your help!

It would be nice to know your system specs. But since you are running ARCH distro, there is a equal to a DxDiag that windows users have.

This terminal command does not work on all Unix Distros, but you can try it.

    sudo lshw -html > specs.html

The above command will/should output a file in your home directory called specs.html

Since this is a HTML file, you will need to host the file somewhere or just open it in Gedit or something and copy & paste the contents into a Pastebin (or spacepaste).

If the command does not work, then that is fine, as again it is varying across Unix Distros. As you could just use Sysinfo then for specs.

Ya, I can probably say your system is simply not able to run minecraft really. For one the CPU is very under powered and «in tech terms» legacy.

The system only has 1GB of DDR2. Not really enough probably left over after the Operating System claims what it needs to efficently run minecraft.

    Has it ran minecraft before?

Yeah, it actually runs at 25-30fps most of the time. The OS only takes 300mb at most. Also, I don’t remember this ever happening on Windows (lol low fps though; 12-15), which I find strange.

Unfortunately I was in one of my «quiet times» for awhile.

But sadly I do not know nothing on this. This is Linux, where anything can go wrong, it likely will.

Could try a Live Distro and try to see if crash happens there to see if anything is wrong with your current OS.

Don’t see what could be wrong, Minecraft it’s the only Java program that behaves like this :/

So you have tried another graphical java application, or game like Runescape to see if problem exists there?

I have ran minecraft on these standards numerous times. I do agree with the fact It could be his OS.
If this crashing is a problem, I would try completely deleting minecraft, and re-installing it. But it probably want work, just an idea.

If you are receiving this error, and a file called “hs_error_pid” is generated in either your desktop or your Minecraft directory, this may hint an issue with Java.

How to fix this

In order to fix this issue, you may need to reinstall Java.

Reinstalling Java

Minecraft, runs on a platform called Java. Java comes in many shapes, and forms, which may make it confusing exactly which version of it you should have installed, which is what this should hopefully explain.
