Unexpected error for my first car mod

Horuga

Horuga

Hey there. A while ago I decided to try making my own car mod for AC. I didn’t want to do a Forza conversion though, but rather start from scratch. By now I finished the model and I’m now trying to get it to work in the game. In both, the standard showroom and the content manager showroom the car works perfectly fine, the lights work, steering works and so on, but if I try to load into a race with it I get an «unexpected error». I tried to find my mistake in the logs, but with my very limited knowledge I have no clue what’s causing it. So now I hope someone of you can help me. Thanks already in advance.

This is the crash part in the logs:

the log.txt you linked is the wrong one, its from the AC showroom

but this line «d:devdev_pc_master_raceacsmirrortexturerenderer.cpp (115): MirrorTextureRenderer::render» makes me think it could be the mirrors. Try cleaning out the related ini file and try again

Horuga

Horuga

Thanks already for the tip, but it’s a pre-war car and has no mirrors and as such no mirrors.ini file.

And I hope this one will be the right log file then. But looking through it I just noticed that it tries to load ini files I don’t have. Is that normal? For example I deleted the flames.ini, but it still tries to load it

Okay, I’m going through the log error for error now. Quite a few suspension errors, but I didn’t properly set it up yet anyways (I changed the suspension geometry, but the spring and dampening values are still from the Formula K). Don’t think that’s causing my issues though.

Assetto corsa csp unexpected error

1 year 10 months ago #3 by Maddo03 Replied by Maddo03 on topic Unexpected error in assetto corsa

I have been getting the same issue in Assetto Corsa.
Have installed SOL and CSP via the content manager application.

When I install Reshade it works great, once.
I found that I have to rename or move my preset ini file in order to get the game to launch.
It seems maybe the game is trying to do too much at launch and is causing the crash.

Is it possible to set a delay on the shader activating, or set reshade to not load a preset on launch?

Getting these errors using Reshade 4.9.1:

I have found a work around for this, as I suspected the game is doing too much at startup when launching via Content Manager with mods.

Browse to the root directory of Assetto Corsa, example N:GamesSteamLibrarysteamappscommonassettocorsa and open Reshade.ini
Under [GENERAL] add the line:

This will stop reshade from compiling shaders at launch and will allow the game to load. Once in game and ready to drive, press your assigned hotkey to enable your preset.
This can be assigned by pressing Home, then selecting the settings tab at the top.

Not perfect, but certainly workable.

Custom Shaders Patch freezing and crashing on the server

Hello, I have my own server, past 2, 3 weeks everything was perfect but since 8 of June (3 days ago) game start crashing. I’m using content manager, last version, custom shaders patch, before I used 0.1.78-pre. After realizing 0.1.78 I started using 0.1.79-pre. On the server, after 5, 10, 60 secs or few mins game freezes for 1 sec (like it try to load something) and I get message (screen) «unfortunately, Assetto Corsa has crashed». I have this problem with all of the csp versions now. I thought that it maybe problem with my own server, I tested on other servers and I have the same problem. I reinstalled assetto corsa, content manager, csp, deleted all the settings, tried to deactivate some/all csp extensions, changed graphics settings but nothing works I hope that someone can help me, thank you!

When you say you’ve tried deactivating all CSP extensions, does that include deactivating CSP itself?

And does this occur on any other games, or only with AC?

[edit]: I forgot to mention that your video was very helpful in describing the issue, so thank you. Also, does the issue show up in single-player/offline mode?

Thank you very much for the reply. If I delete patch from Settings -> CSP, and try to join every server I get a message: «Server auth failed, please update content manager to v0.8.2329.38887 (screen 1), but my CM version is 0.8.2329.39063 (screen 2).

About over games, I play GTA V rage sometimes and don’t have any problems.

About single player mod, I didn’t tested it because I don’t play it anymore, only in multiplayer)

P.S. I tryed to roll back my windows, that didn’t help me either.

Unfortunately, I’ve never encountered such an error and cannot help you out there. I suppose you could try to reinstall CM, but I suppose it’s unlikely to fix it since you’re able to connect to the server when CSP is installed. Sorry.

Does Content Manager ever tell you that «your GPU might be overclocked too much or overheated»? I usually get that message after CSP crashes.

Thank you very much for all of your help, I’ll try to install windows from my save point again, and update nvidia drivers, maybe this will finally help me, good luck

And no, I don’t have CPU overheated somehow.

I get this message, is there a fix for this?

I underclocked my gpu to counteract this but it didn’t help. So far the only CSP version that my game doesn’t crash on is 1.6.0

I use CSP v1.74, but haven’t tried any other versions to determine whether those will fix the problem

Do you use an Nvidia graphics card?

If so, do the following after you get another crash:

Go to your «Event Viewer» Windows program.
Then go to «Windows Logs > System»

Check the immediate, recent events, and look for something along the lines of «nvidia display driver» with Event ID 13.

If you have that, then I think the fix is to disable Windows Update. I’m unable to explain with complete clarity, because I’m quite tech-illiterate, but the gist of the situation is that Windows Update tries to install or update your graphics driver, which causes issues for your game.

You can disable Windows Update by doing this:

Go to the program «Services» (you can search for this, too).
Go down the list until you find the «Windows Update» service, and right click on it to select «Properties».
Stop the service (if it’s running) and select «Disabled» in the «Startup type» dropdown box.

Beware that Windows ALWAYS finds a way to re-enable your Windows Update service. I’ve been unsuccessful at permanently disabling that service, so I’ve pinned the «Services» app to my toolbar so that I can check whether it’s disabled before racing. When Windows does re-enable the service by itself, the error eventually returns.

I cannot say with complete certainty that this will fix your issue, but it has worked very well for me. At the very least, I hope that you will learn to use the Event Viewer program so that you can identify the root issue. Try taking a look, even if you have an AMD card.

Assetto Corsa Unexpected Error Problem Solution

In this article, we will try to solve the «Unexpected Error» error that Assetto Corsa players encounter while opening the game.

The «Unexpected Error» problem that Assetto Corsa players encounter when they want to open the game, due to many problems, restricts your access to the game. If you are facing such a problem, you can solve the problem by performing the following steps.

What is Assetto Corsa Unexpected Error?

This error we encountered restricts our access to the game by encountering such an error output because the models in the game file are not read or read incorrectly. If there is any mod pack you have installed in the game, the game will not be able to read this modeling and will restrict your access to the game.

How To Fix Assetto Corsa Unexpected Error?

In order to fix this error we encountered, you can reach the solution of the problem by following the suggestions below.

1-) Uninstall Mod Pack

We can eliminate this problem by completely removing any mod pack that you have applied in the game from the game file. The mod package you installed in the game folder may not match the game version. For this, a mod pack that will match the game version will prevent you from encountering such problems.

2-) Verify Game File Integrity

We will verify the game file integrity and ensure to scan and download any missing or faulty files. For this;

  1. Open the Steam program.
  2. Open the library menu.
  3. Right-click the Assetto Corsa game on the left and open the Features tab.
  4. Open the Local Files menu on the left side of the screen that opens.
  5. Click the «Verify integrity of game files» button in the Local Files menu we encountered.

After this process, the download will be performed by scanning the damaged game files. After the process is finished, try to open the game again.

Content Manager (Questions & Answers)

Chipi40s

So i recently install sol 2.0 and had an issue when starting up a practice session in single player mode in Content Manager. I had Sol 1.0 and horizon shades installed with track and car mods aswell as the sidekick mod whihc ran perfectly before i installed Sol 2.0. I kept getting the «unexpected error» message after it loads up the session which i have to alt tab over to to close. After exiting the session window, on content manager i would get «game crashed» and the following error message

ACgame.cpp (261): Game::update
ACgame.cpp (261): Game::update
ACgame.cpp (261): Game::update
ACgame.cpp (112): Game::onIdle
ACgame.cpp (210): Game::run
ACacs.cpp (477): wWinMain
f:ddvctoolscrtcrtw32dllstuffcrtexe.c (618): __tmainCRTStartup

I have no idea what it means or what the problem is. I saved my mods on a seperate folder, re installed AC and added back the mods and had no issues. I installed Sol 2.0.2 and horizon shaders with CSP verzion 1.71. For got to mention i update CSP for sol 2.0 to 1.68. Still having the same issue but not with every track. I dont know why. Can somebody look into it and see how i would be able to fix it?

If you have this set to «steam» — then set it back to AppID!

After that just remove «ContentManager.exe» from where you put it after download.

CM is not to be confused with CustomShadersPatch (CSP), to remove that:
-you either remove «dwrite.dll» from AC folder (more stuff in next post, but thats CSP itself)
-or use this button:

This has happened to me 3-4 times over the last couple years.. Everytime it has, a full reinstall has been in order.

Surely one time it was because I filled up the harddrive that AC was on and at that point it doesnt matter how much stuff I deleted, still corrupted the game and needed to be fully deleted and reinstalled.

Good luck and this may not be your issue, just throwing my experience out there..

Hi there fellow drivers!

I’ve been introduced to the digital racing world for about a year ago and still enjoying the times I sit behind the wheel but still got lost in the jungle of settings..

From the beginning I bought the loadcell brake from Fanatec because of the many happy users and been playing with the settings till.. Well not long ago.. I was using a Playseat and set the Brake force to 20/30 because I didn’t want to bend the rig but couldn’t find the sweet spot and took me a while to tell myself that it doesn’t change the amount of braking in game if I press it trough the rig or just press it to its maximum I set it to even with my new Rseat RS1 I didn’t set it higher then 50, but that’s not the reason for this topic!

My question is what are the best wheel/game settings, I’ve been playing for a couple of months with the same settings and I drove myself some nice times on the green hell!

I started with drifting last week so made a new profile with my drift settings, but today I wanted to do some tourist rounds on multiplayer and took my main settings but it felt different.. So I made some changes and now I’m not satisfied at all, took the Base settings from the Fanatec forum and changed the Gyro setting in the .ini file and it felt totally different then before.

Searched the internet for some tips and advises but I’m getting lost in the forest of settings..

Should I use FFBClip ingame or FFB settings from CM or the FFB settings came with CSP?

My gear:
Fanatec CSL Elite Wheel Base (officially licensed for PlayStation)
CSL Elite Racing Wheel P1
ClubSport Steering Wheel Formula 1 Esports
CSL Elite Pedals + Loadcell

Please ask me anything I need to provide for more information about settings etc.

CSP & SOL working perfectly for months.
Next day AC crashes — nothing I have tried can fix the situation except deleting/uninstalling CSP and SOL.
Tried fresh AC install, all versions of CSP, all versions of SOL, fresh install of Content Manager, Different Nvidia drivers, nothing changes AC from crashing/freezing.
Nvidia video card works perfectly on the same computer with ACC and all others except AC.
Same type Nvidia video card on my other computer works with AC & SOL & CSP — no issues!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I’m having a similar problem, and tried most of the same solutions — did you try running the game without post-processing enabled? Mine works just fine when it’s turned off. But it looks ugly. I started a new thread about it above.

Yes, I can run the game without post-processing enabled — but should be able to run CSP. Very frustrating.

Sounds like we are having the same problem. Did you move your assetto corsa folder off of your main drive?

I’ve finally decided a clean re-install of everything, from Steam on down, is the only solution. I’m going to keep my content folder so I don’t have to re-download all of my car and track mods, but everything else is going to have to start from scratch.

So, as I said above, I deleted everything and started over from scratch. I put aside my old content folder, Documents/AC folder, and Appdata/Local/AC Content Manager folder. Then uninstalled everything — CM, CSP, Sol, AC, and Steam, and deleted all the remaining folders. Started over reinstalling everything, and put my tracks and cars, and some of my presets (the ones I wanted to keep) back in their respective folders. So far everything is working smoothly.

My only guess is that when I reinstalled Steam and AC the first time after my Windows reinstall, I accidentally reinstalled AC to the C:/ drive, when I had intended to install it to my H:/ (games) drive. Since I hadn’t deleted all the stuff on H, there were two sets of files and they were conflicting with each other.

I finally know the solution for KLGShader / 2dtextures, it has nothing to do with reinstalling the game, the problem is with WeatherFX in CSP if you disable CSP it will work knowing the problem is just there

In order to fix that: make sure all Sol Apps are on Use the recommended CSP version Go to settings/assetto corsa/video and make sure Post Processing is enabled and use the default ppfilter for no risk

I hope that fixes it.

Hello, I have my own server, past 2, 3 weeks everything was perfect but since 7 of June (3 days ago) game start crashing. I have this problem with all of the csp versions. I thought that it maybe problem with my own server, I tested on other servers and I have the same problem. I reinstalled assetto corsa, content manager, csp, deleted all the settings, tried to deactivate some/all csp extensions, changed graphics settings but nothing works :( I hope that someone can help me, thank you!

Video how it looks like.
