Ошибка m2 genie error

1. did you install the OS under RAID mode? if not, you can’t boot to the OS with SATA mode is RAID.

2. if you remove the m.2 when m.2 genie is enabled, you’ll be getting the m.2 genie error. you can only put back your m.2 device, and disable m.2 genie to solve it.

it shouldn’t wipe out the data on your SSD, but you have to follow number 2 to disable m.2 genie first before going further. My guess is the OS was installed under SATA mode and your m.2 genie wasn’t disabled before removing the M.2.

  • При запуске no man’s sky выдаёт ошибку Error Unable to initialize OpenGL window Как это решить?

M2 Genie Error, Press F1 to run Setup

For my first PC build, I installed two Samsung 860 QVO 1 TB SSDs into my computer. Whenever my computer needs to restart or turn back on, instead of getting taken back to Windows (which I was able to successfully install to one of my drives) I still receive, the below error with a black screen:

“M2 Genie Error, Press F1 to run Setup”

From here I am always forced re-enter the BIOS. Now, I am able to navigate within the BIOS to “settings” and select the Windows Boot Manager from one of my SSD drives and Windows will start up.

My boot priority is also set up to go to the Windows boot manager, but again it makes no difference.

I am running an Intel Motherboard — z390A-Pro. I am updated to the latest bios.

Any thoughts or resolutions to this?

Hello. I have the MSI MPG Z490 GAMING EDGE WI-FI motherboard. Today I bought a WD BLACK SN850x ssd for extra storage and installed it into my motherboard.
My previous set up was that my boot Intel SSD was installed into the m2_2 slot and I had a hard drive in the SATA 2 slot. When I installed the ssd I moved the Intel SSD from m2_2 to m2_1 under the heat sink thing and installed my new ssd in m2_2. I also moved my hard drive plug from SATA 2 to SATA1 port. I turned on my pc just now and I got an m2 genie error on boot and I cannot load windows 11. Can someone please help? Raid is enabled and genie is enabled. The orientation of the drives and storage doesn’t matter. Putting the new ssd into the previously unused m2_1 slot results in the same error. I have seen on other threads that you need to disable raid and genie. How can I do this without the loss of data? Here is a screenshot of the storage page.

No but I’m not sure if it’s safe without data loss because I believe resetting bios would disable genie and raid?
