Answers

  • The sptd.sys driver may not be compatible with Windows 8 RTM.

    You could try uninstalling the application that installed the sptd.sys driver, possibly that is Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120%.

    Then uninstall the sptd.sys — see either «How can I remove SPTD driver on 32-bit OS? or «How can I remove SPTD driver on 64-bit OS?» (depending on the Operating System) in the following link:

  • Thank you, it was DAEMON Tools Pro Advanced 5.1.0333; error
    disappeared after I uninstalled the product and using your link to remove SPTD driver.
