Could not load game

Could not load game. Failed initializing CPU or memory. This is the message I get when trying to run almost every .iso game that I have put on my Samsung galaxy s20 phone. I am getting very frustrated with an app I have paid for but doesn’t want to work on the device I actually want it on. Works fine on an older tablet with lesser drivers (yes, I checked those too). Tried older versions of the app too. Nothing works. I really need help.

ppsspp crashes when loading game

Here we can see “ppsspp crashes when loading game

If you play action-packed PSP games like God of War, Dragon Ball Z, Pro Evolution Soccer, et al., you employ a PSP emulator. During gameplay, you’ll have run into a mistake that says. Unfortunately, PPSSPP Has Stopped after the sport crashes.

The error is fairly common on phones with low-end hardware. We explain what’s behind the matter then walk you thru the steps required to unravel it. It’s fairly easy to follow!

Unfortunately, PPSSPP Has Stopped: Understanding the matter.

Games that use the PPSSPP emulator are often highly intensive. Unfortunately, PPSSPP has stopped error happens when a tool has limited resources (e.g. processor and storage) to handle the stress of the sport.

In other words, it’s all about the performance capabilities of your phone: how powerful the processor and graphics unit are, what proportion of space it’s to devote to the sport. This is often why the error happens more on low-end mobile devices. More powerful, more capable phones can handle things more smoothly.

There are two main ways to form your phone handle things better, namely:

  1. make more resources available to the game;
  2. modify the settings of the emulator to scale back resource demand on the phone during gameplay.

Come with us as we walk you thru both solutions within the instructions below.

Solution One for, Unfortunately, PPSSPP has stopped the error

Delete as many stored files as possible to make more room on your phone.

Your phone should have a file manager inbuilt. Albeit it doesn’t, you’ll easily download one from Google Play Store. Then, open the file manager and browse around to delete as many heavy files as you’ll discard.

Usually, videos, images, and APK installation files are the heaviest files you’ll find on the phone. Delete as many as you do not need. This may release more room on your phone. Attempt to see if you’ll release a minimum of 5 GB of space for storing.

Solution Two for, Unfortunately, PPSSPP has stopped the error

This time, we are getting to tweak or tune the PPSSPP emulator to be less demanding on your smartphone. Don’t get scared. The steps are easy to hold out.

  1. Open the PPSSPP emulator app, attend Options -> Settings -> Graphics -> Backend, and choose Vulkan.
  2. Go back to Graphics, select Frameskipping, and uncheck Auto Frameskip.
  3. Check Prevent FPS from exceeding 60.
  4. For Alternative Speed, enter “0”.
  5. Up next, select Post-processing shader, and toggle it off. Uncheck Fullscreen. Remember that your device is low on resources, and you’re trying to show off anything which will place an additional demand thereon.
  6. Tap Rendering resolution, and set it to 1x Rendering resolution.
  7. Check the following: Vertex cache, Lazy texture caching (speedup), and Disable slower effects (speedup).
  8. Look for Upscale level and switch it off.
  9. Go to the Hack Settings menu and disable the following:
    • Timer Hack;
    • Disable trial.
  10. Tap on a Lower resolution for effects (reduces artefacts), and toggle it off.

At now, you’ve got disabled most of the demanding features of the app, and you ought to be ready to play your favourite games without the dreaded. But, unfortunately, PPSSPP has stopped error shooting up again.

Fine-tune For Your Device

Because there’s a good range of smartphones and configurations out there, you would possibly encounter one or two glitches after implementing the above settings. As such, your phone might require one or two features above set differently.

To try to do is toggle back one feature at a time and testing to ascertain if things run smoothly after doing so.

Note that you may have to mix the two solutions we spelt out above. You’ll get to release space on your Android phone and tweak the PPSSPP emulator settings.

That is it! Now you recognize how to prevent the Unfortunately, PPSSPP has stopped error and luxuriates in your favourite games on your smartphone.

User Questions :

  1. [Solved] PPSSPP Crashing upon game load?

I’m not too sure that I’m posting this within the right section, but I digress; I’m having a weird problem where whenever I attempt to load an ISO, be it any game, the emulator crashes, it won’t even load the sport, it just starts up with a black screen. Within 5 seconds of attempting to open the sport, it crashes. I’m using the best recent version of PPSSPP, and that I can list my PC specs if need be.

  1. [1.6.3] Black Screen then quit (crash) without error

Anyone else having this issue?

OS: Windows 10

PPSSPP Version: 1.6.3

Issue: Black screen followed by a crash and no error message (nor stopped working error)

I tried changing many variables in ppsspp.ini to no avail, including GPU backend and more… Haven’t had this issue before.

  1. Ppsspp for switch won’t work

I downloaded PPSSPP for switch correctly, but it doesn’t do anything except crash the now. Can someone help?

  1. PPSSPP crashing at launch

since that problem seems to relate to the PSP cores behaviour on my setup, your reply had some logic and made some sense, but I attempted applying that advice, but it didn’t work (but that’s fine because you were about the dolphin core). Does one have ideas for why the PSP core crashes retroarch while loading the game and the way to repair it? Thanks for any help. if you would like, you’ll split this post and make it a subject of its own

Hi.

Environment Specifications:

PPSSPP version: 1.4.2.0 ( this )
S.O: Windows 10 x64

Affected game:

Title: Gunhound EX
Disc ID: NPJH-50723
ISO Download -cut-
(THE DOWNLOAD IS JUST FOR EDUCATIVE PURPOSES IF NEEDED BY THE DEVELOPERS OR HELPER USERS TO TEST OUT THE PROBLEM, if this violates the rules I’m sorry and then please delete the url)

Affected savegame:

Savegame download: here
Savegame folder name: NPJH5072300GHSAVE00

Problem Description:

The emulator displays this message when initializing the game due it can’t load the savegame for some reason:

errorcode

After that, the game works as normally… but it can’t load savegames.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

  1. Download the specified savegame linked above.
  2. Run your copy of Gunhound EX in PPSSPP.
  3. Wait for the errorcode to appear.

Research:

I’m 100% sure this is not a problem of user rights neither a corrupted save data, it is an issue with the emulation. Also be aware that I have a private collection of many, many many games that runs perfectly in PPSSPP and the savegames too. Please avoid typical things like «you have admin privileges?» and that..

I had another similar problem with another japanese game ( Strike Witches — Hakugin no Tsubasa ) which It was unable to load a savegame and it gaves me an error code 80110306 or maybe 80110307, I’m not totally sure, but the thing is that I solved it by following this strange guide:

solution
Source: http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/help-saved-game-give-error-code-80110306-and-also-80110307.580858/

Yes, I don’t know how and why, but doing those weird things (which are not much good explained at all) I solved the errorcode in that other game and my savegame start loading correctly. Unfortunately that thing didn’t worked for Gunhound EX.

Also I noticed that the Gunhound EX is not listed in the official PPSSPP compatibility list:
http://forums.ppsspp.org/showthread.php?tid=1473
( However Strike Witches — Hakugin no Tsubasa is not listed there too, but it is perfectly playable game. )

It was unable for me to find any info about this strange error. I read that maybe it could be due to some games requires a higher firmware and then… it breaks when trying to load a savegame or something like that?. Or maybe just what happens is the game is not compatible with PPSSPP? maybe it never get tested by the developers…due it does not appear in the compatibility list?.

Other:

I’m glad to contribute to PPSSPP’s project being my issue the magic number #10000. Is there any reward for this, like… you know, a month of free Domino’s Pizza or some coupon to buy a PS4?. ;)

Thanks for read!

Hey all, I finally have an update to this stuff. LaunchBox for Android 1.0-beta-2 is out now. Details are here:

However, unfortunately updating everything to Google’s new security model did not solve the issues with PPSSPP that some users are seeing. I believe this is because PPSSPP still needs to implement the content URIs properly. I’m hoping to reach out to the development team here soon to see if we can tag team a solution. If anyone has any good contact info for them, please let me know.

Also, to explain why some people are using PPSSPP just fine on Android 11 while others aren’t able to, it’s because of Google’s terrible design decisions. Permissions are allowed when upgrading from older versions of PPSSPP, but not when installing the latest version fresh. So, for those of you who are unable to launch PPSSPP, you may be able to fix the issue for now by uninstalling PPSSPP, installing an old version of it (somehow), and then upgrading to the latest version. You can thank Google for the unnecessary rigamarole.

Finally, if anyone is aware of a frontend that is able to properly launch a completely fresh install of the latest version of PPSSPP on Android 11, please let me know. As far as I am currently aware, it’s not possible, but I can’t say for certain because Google’s documentation is very poor. Also, this stuff could not be more confusing, especially with the upgrade permissions thing.
