«Проблема» с DX12 в Control на ПК: что надо сделать

Как известно, со стороны той части геймерской общественности, которая в новую Control играет на ПК, звучат многочисленные жалобы на проблемы с DX12 в игре (точнее, сначала — на проблемы с производительностью, затем — на DX12).

Control действительно очень требовательная к «железу». И если на 1080p вряд ли нужно чем-то жертвовать, то эффекты RTX в игре на 1440p под силу только мощным видеокартам (либо же приходится активировать DLSS, если карта «не дотягивает»), а на 2160p без DLSS с эффектами не справится ни одна видеокарта, даже из самых новых и топовых.

И, тем не менее, есть мнение, что именно в ПК-версии Control «проблемы» с DX12 в большинстве случаев имеют несколько иную причину, которая обусловлены не самой игрой, а кроется в настройках Windows 10.

А конкретнее — связана с работой Защитника системы, а еще конкретнее — с работой одной из его функции, которая называется «Защита от эксплойтов«.

Сразу скажем, мы не знаем, почему так, но уже знаем, что данное предположение очень даже небезосновательное и легко подтверждается практикой. Поэтому,…

После этого Control с DX12 наконец-то заработает нормально. Комп игру отображать должен плавно и без видимых сбоев, притом вне зависимо от динамики игрового сюжета и количества объектов на экране, в том числе и с RTX (если возможности системы позволяют, конечно).

Приведенная выше метода, к слову, также работает и в других играх, в частности в Tom Clancy’s The Division 2.

Same problem for me, suspect unless we get support for dx12(12) on the 960M cards we’re out of luck.

I assume there will be no support as the GPU might be to old to support all the DX12 functionalities.
So there might be no way as to accept to upgrade your GPU. We will see.

I have a GTX 2060 and i have directx 12 but no 12_1 or 12_0.
I don’t know how to get them, i have been struggling for 3 hours to search how and i have absolutely no clue. Think I’m just going to wait and see now.

Hoping for a DX11 compatibility patch soon.
It would be a douchy moove to have it run only on DX12 considering it’s built on the same platform as Origins and Odisey that had no issues and it runs on consoles that run an a modified Radeon HD 7850 (that’s like a gtx 570)

I have GTX 1080 TI and my game is running fine, and it is using DX12 (just checked) and all my setting very high in graphics beautiful in HDR

BTW this is the AC Odyssey forum why did the OP post it here

Okay so what are the available workarounds? Do we have to wait for Ubisoft to come out with some kind of compatibility patch or should I return the game and just wait until I have bought a new graphics card? Mine is an AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series and can run all the latest games I have bought, so it just seems to be the DX12 feature that is stopping me from even booting the game which is infuriating.

I have GTX Titan, I thought this would be fine?

I read the spec for the game and it says that the game supports DX12(12_0) and higher. Unfortunately GTX 960M supports DX12(11_0) and hence the game wont run. I know its ******** but thats the fact.

According to previous released information, AC Valhalla needs not only DX12 but also DX12 hardware
Thats why the game does not run for a lot of us.
If have not much hope that this will be healed. I fear that I have to buy a new graphic card.

I have exactly the same Graphic Card as you, and also the same problem. It is the ONLY thing that my PC does not support, but anyway I have the DirectX 12 installed so I do not understand NOTHING and it is driving me crazy.

I have the same problem, and i check «dx12» in nvidia’s web site and it seems GTX1060 and higher cards are support DX12.

I run a GTX 960M too and get the same message. Think all we can do now is keep hassling Ubisoft for confirmation on whether our GPU is meant to work with the game or not.

I’m not holding out hope though. looks like I might be spending today trying to get a refund :/

Game does not start because I have DX12(11_0). It’s a shame they didn’t make this game compatible for a wider range of PC owners. I plan to wait and see if they acknowledge this issue or not. If not, I plan to request a refund.

I have the GTX770 and I have the same problem, I have run watch dogs really well with no worries.

Just to confirm I have the same issue with ATI 7970 Matrix Platinum GHZ edition.

GeForce GTX 1050 Ti was released back in October 25, 2016. A forum member said it does not run the game. I have this card too.

GeForce GTX 1080 Ti was released back in March 10, 2017. If that works then there was a change in early 2017. The 2016 Titan GPU also doesn’t work! This is ridiculous.

Were did you get the DX 2_1 from? The game? 10.00.10240.16384 July 29, 2015 Windows 10, Xbox One. This version is probably supported by Nvidia 1050 Ti. Origins and Odyssey require that version. Valhalla doesn’t work though.

10.00.15063.0000 March 20, 2017 Windows 10, Depth Bounds Testing and Programmable MSAA added. The 1080Ti was released together with this version. It works for Valhalla.

10.00.17763.0001 October 2, 2018 Windows 10, DirectX Raytracing support added

10.00.18362.0116 May 19, 2019 Windows 10, Variable Rate Shading (VRS) support added

Were did you get the DX 2_1 from? The game? From what I’ve found the problem seems to be Conservative Rasterization. That is the main difference from feature level 12_1 to 11_0. For some reason that wasn’t hard coded into Origins or Odissey but it is on Valhalla(?). I don’t see why it can’t be disabled, take the FPS hit and run the game on Kepler cards.

Realy hope for a quick patch for this. I would hate not playing this game because the devs were forced to make it work on consoles.

No the 1060 it’s only 6gb ram 1080 is 8gb of ram and now my GTX 1080 TI is nearly old thanks to the RTX 3080/90 just come out:D

This got me into the game but it’s so slow it’s unplayable.

Are Ubisoft fixing the problem?

Given the official silence, there will be no fix, at least not on the side of ubisoft. When they added dx12 (feature 12_0) it was to say that there would be no fix. From what I understand, the new games will not support «also DX12» but rather «only DX12» (at least at Ubisoft). In summary, for laptop gamers, they tell them to buy new laptops to play the games even if it hasn’t made any amortization on it, and I think you have an idea of how much it costs (more expensive than a graphics card, just that on the laptop you cannot upgrade the mobile GPU ^^); for other players they ask them to update their graphics card. Besides, here is a message an official response from a support staff (they don’t have a hand over it, so no need to blame them):

If you are seeing the same error with a Desktop GPU, then we would advise making sure you have all the latest drivers and to perform a Clean Install of the Drivers if you are still seeing issues.

I agree its people fault for not reading plus since no one is a tech specialist (except few ppl) everyone will thin DX12 is a part of their card, but at least let them be allowed to return the game, since they cant play it and the game is not on steam so Uplay refund i BS.

Which card do you use? Desktop? Mobile? Which version?

I went to system > settings > Display > graphics settings in graphics settings I am getting only Classic App and Universal App. But when I use the Classic App and then click on browse and select ACValhalla.exe file, it gives me option of System Default, Power Savings, and High Performance.

Power Savings is using Intel HD graphics 530, which is way to low. And High Performance is using the Nvidia GTX950m card. However, when i use Power Savings and launch the game, i am getting crashes and nothing else.

Which version? It is important to know. Since the NVidia Titan which has huge VRAM cannot run Valhalla because the 2016 version does not support this version of DX12, it is important to know which 1060 can run the game. Ask him. I write down all editions and their release dates. So, far any 2016 card, either 1050Ti or Titan, is unable to run this game so VRAM is irrelevant.

i am with 2070 super, but this game told me same things about dx12

So, you can’t play Valhalla. The GeForce RTX 2070 Super was released in July 2019. How is it possible? I mean this card is only one year old and does not support DX12? What is going on here? :confused:
