Voicemeeter Banana Crashes Continuously
Hello,
I’ve recently started using voicemeeter banana with my AudioTechnica ATR 2500 USB Microphone.
I love the features and would like to continue using the application, but when it crashes it hangs the program, doesn’t produce an error log, and makes me force shutdown the program and reboot it manually. It used to happen consistently (like once every 5 minutes) but now it happens about once an hour or so since I’ve researched setting via your documentation and youtube videos. I still cannot seem to run it reliable and the auto reboot for the audio drivers seems to fail.
I’m running on Windows 7 SP1, fully updated.

what do you mean by «when it crashes» ? Voicemeeter is not expecte to crash , what is the event producing this crash ?
WDM Speaker Realtek shoud work 24/7 …
you may disable the option «*Auto restart audio engine».
could you please show your Voicemeeter system settings dialog box?

The event producing the crash was rather uncertain. It seems as though the issues has not been occurring since I went through a few tutorials and adjusted my settings.
But originally I was using MME, and setting my output to MME.
Sometimes the issue would happen more often when I ran OBS, or when I connected to Discord.
Also, there was a period prior to my change to WDM and muting all unused channels, that I couldn’t even listen to music with a crash every 2-3 minutes. I’m wondering if maybe it was an issue with my drivers or motherboard.

Just an update, the crashes are continuing to occur, but they happen during elongated sessions, 3-4 hours of time pass if not more, then it appears the USB Microphone disconnects, reconnects, and the audio engine is no longer working completely. As soon as I reboot the engine the program continues to work, but the Auto Reboot Audio Engine is either not working, or not detecting the issue. This is still a bit of an issue to me, as I can be recording or streaming on my computer, and the microphone will cut out, but not the audio from the PC, so I will not notice any changes until no one has responded to me for a while, or I check the gain from VM Banana.

One other setting I’ll add to what Vincent said, you could also select «Show app on startup». That way, you can toggle the system tray state from the application without having to kill it from the Process Explorer and restart it. Then minimise it to the tray once you see the icon in the systemtray. I thought it was just Vista being dumb with icons, but it seems that other versions of Windows are prone to it too.

Здравствуйте. Помогите, пожалуйста, с решением проблемы. Стоит VB-AUDIO Virtual Cable и VB-AUDIO VoiceMeeter. Настроила всё по видео с ютуба. Сначала хорошо работает, потом вдруг начинает звук заедать, через полчаса может (именно как будто кто-то вкл/выкл тыкает). Видела запись с похожей проблемой. Было два совета. Поменяла WDM на MME — не помогло. Хотела ещё увеличить макс. задержку в VB cable, но она итак стоит максимальная. Заедания проходят если например поменять с вдм (нужный микро) на что-то другое и сразу обратно. Но потом опять начинаются заедания. Думала они появляются только как ноут «поспит» или когда что-то меняешь на ноуте (например, в настройках ноута вывод звука по умолчанию). А сейчас оказалось, что просто сидя за ноутом через какое-то время оно перестаёт нормально работать. Совсем не знаю, что делать, нужен микрофон для работы, а без настойки через эту программу звук совсем ужасный. У меня к ноуту подключены оригинальные проводные Earpods. Через них и говорю и слушаю (с переходником, т.к. ноут старый и на нём отдельные разъёмы под микро и наушники)

Настройка Voicemeeter Banana для Дискорда
Программа предназначена для работы со звуком. Иное название – виртуальный микшер компьютерных приложений. Назначение утилиты:
- активация и подключение звуковых элементов;
- разделение проигрываемых каналов (например, одна активирует музыкальный фон, вторая – тиммейты мессенджера, третья – распознает и воспроизводит стрим);
- установка отдельных характеристик для каждого объекта (громкость, комбинации горячих кнопок, фильтры, другое).
Чтобы настроить микшер, необходимо выполнить несколько последовательных действий:
- установить нужные утилиты;
- перейти в раздел «Пуск»;
- пройти по блокам – параметры, система, вкладка «Звук»;
- в правой части рабочего окна кликнуть по пункту «Панель управления звуком».
Во вкладке «Воспроизведение» деактивировать функционал «Output» и «Input» на строках «Aux». В свойствах главного устройства (динамиков) перейти на пункт «Уровни» и установить громкость на верхнее значение.
Внимание! Главное, что нужно сделать для корректировки работы софта, это выставить значение «Использовать устройство связи по умолчанию» для установленной программы. Отдельно установить параметры для источника и микрофона.
Возможные проблемы
При установке дополнительных элементов для других приложений необходимо учитывать различные ситуации и проблемы. Например, могут возникнуть следующие ситуации:
- звук при проигрывании ровный, во время проигрывания записи прерывается – нужно заменить «MME» на «WDM» (или наоборот);
- не воспроизводятся дорожки – зайти в настройки «Микшер аудио», вызвать контекстное меню правой кнопкой мышки и выбрать блок «Расширенные свойства аудио»;
- чтобы слышать собственный голос, нужно выбрать полосу «WDM: Mic in at rear panel (Pink) (Reltek High Definition Audio)».
Могут возникнуть и другие неполадки. Пользователю нужно проверить настройки и установку значений входа и выхода. В некоторых случаях помогает проверка соединения элементов «железа».
Микшер Voicemeeter Banana настраивает и синхронизирует звучание в мессенджере Дискорд. Если корректно установить характеристики утилиты, можно разделить звуковые дорожки и прослушивать отдельно несколько каналов.

Hey there!
Got the following problem which i cannot reconstruct or trace to solve it.
Following situation:
While playing games like WoW after a long time of running the sound disappears and windows suddenly stuck more and more until nothing will run anymore. Means: Only the hot button «Reset» is working.
By the way: My soundsetup is Voicemeeter Banana, Windows is set to Voicemeeter Input and Volume 2 is set to the normal Speaker Output of the Realtek HD Audio (to control the volume with). Everything works fine until the sound crash, ’cause after the restart everything is there BUT.. no sound working and the Speaker Output of the Realtek HD is not controlable anymore.
My current solution for the problem: If the sound crash:
Uninstall the Sound Driver, Voicemeeter Banana and Volume².
After a restart: Install the Sound Driver again and restart
After 2nd restart: install voicemeeter Banana again and restart
After 3rd restart: install volume² again and restart
After the last restart everything should work as before (after you made the settings)
I really don’t know but for me it sounds like a problem between the sound card driver and windows 10 and it chains up to volume² and voicemeeter banana, but i hope anyone is outside in the whole web and has the reason for the sound crash or better the solution for this problem.

Voicemeeter Banana Audio Distortion / VBAN Errors
Hello,
Hoping that there’s some Voicemeeter Banana pro’s in here..
I’ve looked up threads, and pages, and websites, and videos for HOURS on this issue. I cannot find it. So here’s what’s going on:
I had to re-do my whole Voicemeeter setup. Basically, I got it working, and everything works fine. It’s a Dual PC Streaming setup. VBAN has no red errors. And audio works fine. Streamed for 6 hours today, but noticed when going back through the VOD that my microphone was distorted.
I could fix this by ‘restarting audio engine’ of Voicemeeter Banana on the streaming PC. However, it’s only temporary until the issue comes about again. Could be 10 minutes, could be 2 hours.
I noticed upon clicking the ‘error’ section of the VBAN page, that there are yellow error numbers. I’m not sure what they mean, but I’m guessing that means that something is not right. I’m also assuming that this is what eventually ‘breaks’ my audio, making it sound distorted. I also-also noticed that when the audio distorts, the error part of VBAN turns from yellow numbers to red blocks.
(And yes, I have made sure that everything (all playback/recording/VBsettings) are all set to the same Hz)
Hoping to find some answers here. Also open to letting someone with great history of this program/know-how teamview my computer with me to see if they can figure this out. Also willing to send them screenshots or information.. etc. Just trying to figure this issue out, so I can continue streaming.

EDIT: After changing the Banana engine settings to ‘Swift’ I noticed that the error numbers do not go up. They are still there, though, at «0,0,0,1, 0» — Here is the screenshot so you can see what I mean: https://imgur.com/a/TjXTeB6 — But when I turn off my streaming PC, the error number on the Banana on the gaming PC starts to skyrocket, as seen in this screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/gRaPCBa — Not sure if that’s normal for a setup like mine, when one computer is off, but yeah. Trying to eliminate the errors altogether, especially when both PCs are on, so that way the sound does not become distorted and red error-out randomly.
I also tried switching the A1 and A2 hardware around as seen here: https://imgur.com/a/j2OmHDd — Still same outcome with error numbers 0,0,0,1, 0
